October Check-in & November Intentions

by Ashley on November 4, 2012 · 4 comments

October has come and gone, faster than any of us could have imagined, I’m sure. It seems that I was just writing my intentions to kick off the fall, but here we are again, gearing up for November.

To review, here are the intentions I set for October:

Love on Your Super Awesome Life
I am proud of myself for the positive attention I gave my business last month. Huzzah! I booked a whole lotta coaching calls, launched the Dream Catching Workshop, began the process of rebranding, and signed up for Stratejoy’s Get It Off the Ground group. It was a month of wrapping up projects, brainstorming, and letting creativity flow. In an effort to not be too hard on myself (there is SO MUCH more that I wanted to accomplish!) and recognize the growth I made, we’re going to call this a success.

Begin Running Again
Technically, I did begin running again, but not as often as I would have liked. I mean, I didn’t run at all this past week since I was in Canada. But the first three weeks of the month, I was able to go on 3-4 runs and that’s good enough for me.

Clean and Purge
I knew this intention would happen since I’m moving, but even so, I’m super proud of myself for going through my entire bedroom and closet, and separating everything into piles for Trash, Donate, and Keep. I took FOUR trips to Goodwill, threw out about 15 bags of junk.

Slow Down
This intention wasn’t quite as successful as the others. Bummer. I wanted to work on my Autumn List of Fun, but also having moments of unscheduled, unplanned, spontaneous fun. I wanted to enjoy fall and soak up as many new memories as possible, take naps and drink pumpkin spice lattes. And well, I only made a hot toddy. Peter and I bought a pumpkin while I was in Canada, but we didn’t get to carve it or roast pumpkin seeds. Is it weird if I still do this, even though Halloween is over? Because I really want to.

Practice Gratitude
This is something I would practice every day, in an ideal world. It’s so easy to get wrapped up into my little bubble, overwhelmed by stress and busyness and forget to stop and express gratitude toward the people and things for which we are grateful. This month I want to make an extra effort to be thankful.

Let It Go
As October was wrapping up, I began thinking about my intentions for November and I immediately became stressed. My mind wandered to everything I needed to cross off my to do list these first few days. It’s only the 4th, but I’ve already traveling back from Canada, packed up my entire apartment, and moved across town. And y’all? Moving is stressful. Just the thought of it makes me want to cry. So I made a pact with myself that my manta for November would be to Let It Go. The stress. The worries. The things I cannot control. And let me tell you, it has been blissful.

Get Out There
As far as Your Super Awesome Life is concerned, I’m pretty stoked about the direction we’re headed. But this month I want to focus on getting out there and meeting new people. I want to expand my audience and make new friends. Totally doable.

Yoga It Up
I only made it to yoga about 5 times in October and I’d like to make that number a little higher this month. Since I go to classes at the Y, they are only offered twice a week. I’m not sure what the schedule will be over Thanksgiving break, so maybe I’ll look into classes elsewhere. I want to spend more time on the mat, no matter what it takes.

What are you intentions for November?

This is awesome, I love your intentions. I am knew to the world of vision boards, affirmations and goals, although I am already loving it. I have yet to have monthly intentions, but I really like the sound of it, something I now hope to implement into my life soon.

This is a fun idea! I’m going to try it, too. By the way, I think you should absolutely still carve your pumpkin. I did the same thing; bought a pumpkin and didn’t have time to carve it. I decided yesterday that I’m going to carve a turkey or other Thanksgiving-related design into it and let it be the first Thanksgiving pumpkin I’ve ever seen. Maybe we could start a new trend. :)

November Intentions (you’ll probably recognize some of these!)

1. Work out consistently (3x/week).
2. Incorporate more veggies into my diet. (This involves prep time, Ali. Accept it and DO it!)
3. Drink at least 64 oz. of water per day.
4. Blog, blog, blog!
5. Learn to love the phone. (Aka, call my friends more often rather than just text them.)
