The most common question I get asked (besides if my love for Hanson is real*) is how to get more clients.

People tend to think there’s some secret sauce required to fill your programs or get booked out 6 months in advance.

And really, it super easy!

The (Not So Secret) Secret to Attracting Your Dream Clients

1. Stop comparing

I know it’s super easy to get caught up in the glitz and glam of other businesses. You tell yourself you’re doing “research”. But, seriously, it’s time to keep your eyes on your own paper.

Let’s find your unique brand so you can start doing things your own way. Then your dream clients will have no problem finding their way to you.

To get started, ask yourself, “How do I want people to feel when they see or interact with my business or brand?”

Do you want them to feel ignited to go out and change the world? Do you want them to feel inspired to write heartfelt poetry? Do you want them to feel motivated to hit the gym after work?

2. Get clear on who you wanna work with

To attract your dream clients, first you gotta know who they are. Obviously. Then you need to laser in on how you actually help them.

So, who do you wanna work with? Up-and-coming designers? 20-somethings looking to try yoga for the first time? Vegetarian dads?

What’s their biggest challenge? Making more money? Losing weight? Overwhelm and stress?

And how can you help? Teaching them a step-by-step process through coaching? Sharing secrets in your e-book? Or ongoing accountability in your group program?

3. Create an offer she can’t resist 

Once you know who your dream client is, it’s time to get down to business and create a program just for her.

What kind of program or service would your dream client absolutely looooove?

Maybe you’re a health coach and your dream client is a 30-something mom who wants to get back into her skinny jeans. You might know you could help her by creating a 30-day meal plan with 5 ingredients or less.

Or you could create a 4 week one-on-one coaching program to teach her the psychology behind her food choices.

4. Build your power posse

Your dream clients aren’t going to show up without you putting in a little effort. They have to know you, trust you, and like you before they’re willing to invest in your program.

You can move this process along by blogging regularly (it helps establish you as the expert), sending out weekly newsletters (to stay in touch), or hosting webinars (full of helpful info).

5. Sell yourself (without selling out)

You hate feeling “salesy” so you gotta learn how to put yourself out there in a way that feels authentic AND fun.

My favorite way to do this is by using the “gut feeling” exercises. Each time I’m sharing a new program, I check in with myself to see if it feels too salesy, or if it genuinely feels good. If I get the “salesy” vibe, I put on the brakes.

Remember, you’ve just created a program your dream client is going to fall in love with, so you’re actually doing her a disservice by not getting it out there and telling her about it.
