Top 5 Things I’ve Learned In 5 Months Since Quitting My Job

Can you believe that it’s almost been 5 months since I quit my job and became a full-time Life Coach here at Your Super Awesome Life?

Because I totally can’t.

I guess it’s that same feeling of time flying and things seeming closer in the past than they actually are.

In honor of my 5-month Entreprener-iversary  I’m sharing a few things I’ve learned over the past few months.

Click here to watch this episode of Ashley’s Video Diary and learn the top 5 things I’ve learned since quitting my job:

I’d love for you to leave a comment telling me something you’ve learned over the past few months.

Happy Friday!

I hope you’re having a super awesome time in Colorado! Thanks for the reminder about opting out of the comparison game. Sometimes the more aware of the pitfalls we get the sneakier they are at getting into our thoughts.

I really like your intro music. I was rocking out there for a minute.

I really want to be able to work for myself someday. The only problem is that I really just want to write creatively–novels, personal essays, blog posts, maybe even screen plays (I’d love to write a good, solid romantic comedy one day), and that’s the kind of writing that’s the hardest to get into and support yourself on a consistent basis. I’m sure going to grad school would help. For a while it was my plan to get my Master’s in literature, then go on to get my MFA in writing thinking that would help get me in the right direction, and that’s still something I’m thinking about doing. However, in the meantime, I really need a new job at least for a year to help get bills paid off so I can go to grad school without so much debt on back.

The hardest thing is finding what it is that I truly want to focus on. I love writing! I love wedding planning! But it took me FOR-EV-ER to realize that maybe I should be blogging about wedding planning or coaching people on how to get started planning their wedding.

Congratulations on hitting the five month mark!

Your story/journey has been so inspiring to follow.

I LOVE what you said about the comparison game. It IS real and I struggle with it a lot even though I know it’s useless to do that. Thanks for this great reminder.

Hey Ashley!

Thanks for sharing this :) I’m totally guilty of comparing myself to others too, but you’re so right. You’ve got to keep your focus on your own stuff! Very inspiring!

Fabulous video! I find that once you quiet all the comparison chatter in your own head, let go of the self created anxiety of “am I good enough”, are you then able to really feel what your passion is and how to follow it. Thank you for providing a forum for confidence and connections to other bloggers/coaches/awesome people.
